Let’s take a nice stroll down to the south of Glasgow in Scotland to visit one of the best racecourses available, the Hamilton Park Racecourse. It is also noted to be one of the oldest racecourses in the world, with the first race at Hamilton Park Racecourse first held back in 1782. It is Scotland’s great sporting heritage, definitely worth visiting even just for enjoying the amenities and experiencing the historic ambience of this particular venue.

You will be surprised to see just how beautiful this racecourse is as soon as you arrived on the venue. Gorgeous surrounding views are there to entertain you the whole time, even at night with lights and gorgeous views of the sky creating the ambience. The Hamilton Park Racecourse is also famous for being glamorous and exciting, especially with several new hospitality features being added to the complex. You can enjoy virtually anything, ranging from heart pumping actions by top jockeys and horses to entertaining live music performances by top international artists. It is definitely Scotland’s most high profile racecourse.

While you are visiting Hamilton Park Racecourse, make sure to take your time and enjoy some fine dining experiences at the on-site Dukes Restaurant and Marquee Restaurants. There are also packages available to make enjoying races a lot more pleasant. I personally recommend going all the way and opting for the Prestige, with access to private bar and private box or chalet as well as other first class amenities. You will also meet horse owners and other avid horse racing fans, guaranteeing superb experiences that are worth every penny.

There are a lot of racecourses spread across the nation. Some offer different attractions than the other, while several racecourses also offer additional attractions aside from heart pumping actions and amazing races. One of the racecourses that stay true to the world of horse racing is York Racecourse. Although the racecourse also offers other facilities such as event venue and the famous Melrose Club Lounge, it is definitely one of the best racecourses in terms of track quality and available amenities.

The York Racecourse is located just southwest of the city of York in North Yorkshire, England. This racecourse is noted to be one of the largest in the area, with spectator capacity of 60,000. In 2003, York Racecourse won the Racecourse of the Year title. The award was given by The Times and it was the result of the newspaper’s survey of all Britain’s racecourses. This is a solid achievement, proving that York Racecourse is one of the best indeed.

The 60,000 spectator capacity is certainly not for nothing at all. The York Racecourse hosts some of the best flat races for sure, including the always anticipated annual Ebor Handicap, which is run during the Ebor Festival meeting in August. It is definitely one of the best time to visit York Racecourse, with top races and superb actions guaranteed to entertain you throughout the visit.

Of course, as mentioned earlier, those of you who are privileged enough can enjoy the spectacular ambience of Melrose Club Lounge while watching the International Stakes or Yorkshire Oaks.

We’ve talked about various bits about horse racing for quite a while now. For this post, I’m going to take you into a lighter discussion and see if I can amuse you with some of the best books about horse racing. These books are definitely must-reads if you are a true horse racing fan, perfect for understanding the history of horse racing as well as several interesting moments along the way for sure.

Betting Horses to Win by Les Conklin is a must-read book for sports punters wanting to place bets on horse racing. Although this book is not the most comprehensive horserace betting ever written, it is definitely the most enjoyable one to read. You will find several valuable information including guides on assessing strengths and weaknesses of a horse as well as taking your pick accurately.

Champions by Daily Racing Form focuses more on American horse racing, but it is an interesting book to read nonetheless. You will find a lot of interesting histories about horse racing and how the sport has evolved all these years. It is also interesting to read some of the most interesting careers of famous horses ever known, along with behind the screen information on what really happens during race day.

The Winning Horseplayer – A Revolutionary Approach to Thoroughbred Handicapping and Betting by Andrew Beyer and the Racing Numerology by Mozan are the two books you should read if you want to be the next pro horse race bettor and make a handsome living out of it.

In the world of horse racing, horses are not the sole factor in determining the winner. Experienced jockeys can actually alter the outcome of a race completely using their own assessments and skills. That is why experienced jockeys are always in high demand; they have the experiences needed to determine how to run the race properly, and the chances of them winning is generally higher than average.

If you are sports punter interested in placing bets on horse races, you can actually add jockeys as part of your betting system’s equation and be that much more profitable at the end of the day. It is not hard at all to find the right information on competing jockeys, especially when you have access to valuable online resources such as the site you are viewing right now.

Gather all the information you can about competing jockeys and start pairing them with the information you have on competing horses. The right combination can produce a sure winner indeed, so be sure to check each of their reputations. Take certain aspects into considerations; these aspects include the jockey’s experiences in long distance races and the horse’s track records.

Once you have all the information you need and you have pair and assess them properly, you can quickly spot the best jockey in the race. Simply assess the horse afterwards and determine if the pair is strong enough to win the race. Professionals are using this type of comparison, and you should too if you want to be profitable placing bets on horse racing.

We’ve discussed about several things related to attending horse racing events before, including possible dress codes and other needed preparations. In this part, we are going to specifically talk about the importance of checking the weather before attending any horse racing event. If you still relies on basic weather report showing only the temperature and possible weather on site, you should start using online weather resources before attending your favorite horse races.

The best thing about using online weather sites to help you find information on weather forecasts is that they provide comprehensive information on various aspects. Before you decide what to wear or what gears you should bring, check some of these aspects first. For starters, humidity can play a huge role in determining your comfort; simply pick the best outfit for different situation and you will find watching horse races a lot more enjoyable.

Don’t forget to check the wind and other weather aspects. Several accessories and gears might be essential when dealing with different situations, and you can prepare them beforehand if you know what you are up to exactly. Not only that, you can also prepare the right food and beverages to accompany your visit to the racetrack, especially for those of you watching from the open areas of the tracks.

Last but not least, checking detailed weather report is also very important for those of you who plan on placing bets on site. A slight change on the weather can alter the outcome of a race greatly, so account for possible weather situation and place your bets accordingly.
